To the Citizens of Weld County:

Thank you for your interest in the Weld County Sheriff�s Office.  I often say to people, �It�s easy to be the Sheriff of Weld County because of the great staff I have.� The men and women of the Weld County Sheriff�s Office (WCSO) work hard and are committed to providing you with quality law enforcement. Therefore, I am pleased to provide this 2008 annual report so that you can share in our accomplishments and successes.

I am providing this annual report for other reasons as well. We live in a free and open society, and I believe government should be the same. The more you know about your Sheriff�s Office, the more accessible we become. The more accessible we become, the better job we do at community policing and serving you.  You will see where we are improving the quality of life for Weld County citizens by decreasing the response times to calls for service while responding to more incidents than in previous years.

As you will see when you read this report, the Sheriff�s Office is comprised of three Bureaus: Administrative, Public Safety, and Offender Supervision. Each bureau has included statistics and descriptions about various job functions which I think shows how dedicated to the community your WCSO employees really are.
