Weld CART The Weld County Animal Response Team is not a government agency, but rather a public/private partnership aimed at providing resources and education to help people deal more effectively with animals of all types in a disaster situation. We are a group of law enforcement, fire, veterinary, shelter, and other agencies with a shared goal of increasing awareness of animal issues in disasters through public education and awareness. We will also assist in providing resources to local jurisdictions throughout the county in the event of a disaster. Weld CART is also part of an eleven county Northeast Region and will provide assistance to other counties in our region upon their request. How can I Help? If you are interested in helping with the CART team, there are a number of ways you can help. If you wish to volunteer for this, you can download one of the volunteer applications and mail it in. Be advised, we are still in the early stages of recruiting volunteers and it may be a while before we have tasks for the volunteers, but we would love to have interested people contact us. If you wish to make a donation to the CART team, you can do so through the Humane Society of Weld County and your donation will be tax-deductible. The Humane society is located at 1620 42nd St. in Evans, CO. Their phone number is (970)506-9550. Please clearly mark any donations for the Weld CART. Other CART needs: - Medium and large plastic crates in good shape. - Horse and cattle halters and leads of various sizes in good shape. - New aluminum pie tins and cake pans. (for use as disposable food and water dishes and litter boxes) - New Polaroid camera and film, or digital camera and printer. (for ID photos of animals) - 18-20ft bumper pull cargo or enclosed stock trailer for storage of equipment and use for public education at fairs, rodeos, and town festivals.
