Mary Elizabeth Pierce – 1977 – WC77-4219
Mary was working as a clerk at the 7/11, located at 1101 9th Street in Greeley, Colorado (now Hoffa’s Liquor) on the night of August 25, 1977. She was kidnapped, raped and murdered. Her body was discovered in a corn field near 83rd Avenue and West 10th Street (Hwy 34) two days later. Mary was a UNC student and had just enlisted in the military. An arrest was made by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from Port Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office in Florida on December 1, 2009, 32 years after her murder! The suspect is currently being held in the Weld County jail.

Yvonne Rabb 1981
Yvonne Rabb’s body was found on November 15, 1981 in a ditch near Weld County Roads 8 and 11, near Dacono, CO. Ms. Rabb was a prostitute in the 5 points area in Denver, CO. She was last seen walking into an alley in the 5 points area, near Big Al’s Bar with the suspects on the night of November 14, 1981. One witness heard a gunshot in alley. She was also known as Yvonne, Robb, Yvonne Rapp, Diane Thompson and “Buddy”. Suspects were identified. The murder is possibly tied to a drug transaction.
Margorie Sue Fithian 1975
Margorie “Margie” Fithian was last seen by her uncle, who dropped her off at a bus depot in down town Denver, CO on or about June 23, 1975. She was going to catch a bus back to Greeley, CO the following day. She had her 18 month old son with her. Her body was discovered on the side of a dirt road in rural Weld County, near Roggen on June 24, 1975. Her son, unharmed was on the side of the road with her. She was shot to death before her body and her son were dumped on the side of the road. Witnesses saw a light yellow or tan midsized two door car leave the area. Three suspects were identified, Robert Davis, Vern Hudson and Larry Hernandez. They allegedly picked up the victim from the parking lot of the Picadilly Restaurant in Denver. There are several other persons of interest in the case.
Sheila Birl 1979
On October 25, 1979 Sheila Birl’s (“Cricket”) body was discovered along I-76, near Weld County Road 51, which is near Hudson, CO. Her cause of death was undetermined, however a drug overdose was suspected. Ms. Birl was a prostitute and heroin addict. She was last seen in Denver by her pimp. She was described as an adult, black female. She was last seen wearing a rabbit coat, a blond wig and green sunglasses. Ms. Birl was allegedly in hiding because she owed a large sum of money to a drug dealer, named “Big Mellow” out of Kansas. Ms. Birl also used the names, Dejunda Hudson and Melody Lorraine Smith. She had arrest records in Kansas City, MO and Denver, CO.
Casimiro Morado 1983
On October 25, 1983 Mr. Morado’s body was found in an irrigation ditch at Weld County Road 74/Weld County Road 27, in rural Weld County, near Severance, CO. He was stabbed to death. Benedicto Samuel Carrion (01/04/1945) is the primary suspect.
Robert Moody 1984
On October 23, 1984 Mr. Moody was found inside his residence, at Weld County Road 52 and Highway 85, near LaSalle, CO. Mr. Moody died of a gunshot wound. There was family turmoil leading up to the discovery of his body and suicide has not been excluded as a manner of death.
Denise Davenport 1985Ms. Davenport was a student at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. She was reported as a missing person to the Greeley Police Department, last seen on February 24, 1985 as she left work at the Greeley Mall. She was wearing a bright pink 2 piece suit, with a white blouse and black pumps. The car she was driving was discovered a few days later in a student dormitory parking lot. Her body was discovered in the South Platte River between 18th Street and Highway 34, near Greeley, CO on April 20, 1985. The cause and manner of her death was undetermined, but foul play is suspected and her death was and is being investigated as a homicide. Several suspects were identified.
Gerald Drieling 1986
Mr. Drieling was found shot to death inside his home at Weld County Roads 10 and 23 on August 27, 1988. It is believed that he interrupted a day time burglary at his home earlier that day. Several persons of interest were identified.
Mario Mendoza 1986
On September 23, 1986 Mr. Mendoza’s body was found floating in the Fulton irrigation ditch #2 at Weld County Roads 4 and 29, near Brighton, CO. Mr. Mendoza had been beaten. It is speculated that he was placed in the ditch in Adams County and floated to the location of his discovery.
Robin Nelson 1988On June 12, 1988 Ms. Nelson’s body was discovered on the side of a farm access road by a farmer at Weld County Road 8 and I-25, near Dacono, CO. It is believed she died of a drug overdose, but the Coroner’s office was unable to make an official finding of cause or manner. Ms. Nelson lived in the 1400 block of Adams Street in Denver. She was last seen by neighbors
on June 8, 1988 when she left her son with them to babysit for a few hours. Ms. Nelson was an acquaintance of Tammy Cheeks (WC92-1114101). Suspects were identified.
Valerie Meeks 1991
Ms. Meeks was working as a prostitute in Denver in the Colfax area. On July 17, 1991 her body was found in a field near Erie, CO (approximate location WCR 4/WCR 5). She was reported as a missing person out of Aurora, CO on July 3, 1991. Suspects were identified.
Tammy Cheeks 1992
On November 15, 1992 body was found at Weld County Roads 51 and 20, near Hudson, CO by hunters. She was in a concrete irrigation ditch. She was a prostitute in Denver in the Colfax area. She used the aliases of; Tammy Cloathes, Tammy Mason, and Gloria Fowler. Her alias DOB is 12/09/1959. The cause and manner of death was never determined.
John Doe 1993
On September 21, 1993 the Weld County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible homicide that occurred on September 17, 1993. The suspects were identified, but a body was never found and a victim has never been identified. The alleged homicide victim was picked up
at The Break Pool Hall in Greeley, CO, driven to Brantner Road and industrial Park Way, near Evans, CO and shot while still seated in the vehicle. The vehicle is described as a 2 door sport sedan with tinted windows, dark in color, with a light colored interior. It was possibly a Saturn.
The victim is described as a 30 to 40 year old white male with sandy collar length hair and a rotting tooth. He spoke with an accent.
John Doe 1995
On August 12, 1995 the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a body that was discovered, partially buried at Weld County Road 8 and Weld County Road 31, near Fort Lupton, CO. The body was skeletized. T he skeleton was that of an adult male, with a mixed race of white and American Indian. He was also right handed. He was fully clothed and had most likely been dead since at least July of 1994. The pants were size 29 X 32. His shirt size was 34 X 36. The unidentified male died of gunshot wounds and/or stab wounds.
James Vooris 1996
Mr. Vooris was beaten to death in a motel room at the Super 8 Motel in Del Camino (I-25/Hwy 119) on November 21, 1996. Several leads and potential suspects were developed. The homicide is believed to be drug related.
Sheryl Parker 1996
Sheryl Parker lived and worked in Larimer County, She was a payroll employee for Larimer County. Mrs. Parker’s body was discovered in the St. Vrain River on July 26, 1996. She succumbed to blunt force trauma. She was last seen alive at the Budget Host Motel in Del Camino and her car was located in the parking lot. Her husband, Glenn Parker was the primary suspect.
HOMICIDE VICTIM - Ruben Ortiz-Gutierrez 1998
Weld County Sheriff’s Investigators were notified by CBI that a 1998 homicide victim had been identified. The victim’s name is Ruben Ortiz-Gutierrez, age 30, of Denver. The case originated on May 16th, 1998 when a body was found location in a dry irrigation ditch just Northeast of Del Camino. Brooklyn V. Digesualdo – WC00-338
Brooklyn was a 22 month female. Her mother’s boyfriend of 1 year was babysitting her at home. On January 22, 2000 Deputies responded to their home in Evanston, Colorado on a report of an infant who was not breathing. The boyfriend claimed she fell off the bed when he left the room and a short time later he discovered that she was not breathing. The cause of death was undetermined and foul play is suspected.
John Doe 2000 – WC00-692
On February 14, 2000 a Weld County Resident discovered the skeletal remains of a person in the in the river bank of the Cache La Poudre River, east of Greeley, Colorado. The victim is 5 feet, 4 inches (+/-) 2inches tall. It is believed he is from the Oregon area and was murdered in Colorado.
BABY FOUND 2002
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information about the abandonment of a newborn infant found Wednesday morning September 11, 2002 north of Brighton, Colorado in the area of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 2 1/2. Autopsy indicates the baby was alive at birth.

COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED - Sex Assault Suspect
Weld deputies are still searching for a suspect who they believe sexually assaulted and attempted to strangle a Hudson woman December 19, 2003 at 9:40 am. A composite sketch of the man was released of the 5-foot, 9-inch , 170-pound Latino man last wearing a red button-down shirt, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and a blue jean jacket. He was last seen at the victim's home in the area of Weld County roads 39 and 8.

Daniel Larson 2004
Daniel Larson was from Illinois. He had been living the Loveland, CO area for about 5 years. He was living out of his gray 1990 Pontiac 6000. His family began looking for him in late December, 2004 after they lost contact with him. His vehicle was discovered at the Park & Ride at I-25/US Highway 34. There was evidence of foul play in the vehicle. His body was discovered by hunters in a field north of Kersey, CO on January 13, 2004.
