The Weld County Sheriff’s Office, Ft Lupton Police Department and Lochbuie Police Department will be co-hosting a Citizens Academy at various locations through South East Weld County. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office / Ft Lupton/Lochbuie Police Department Citizen’s Academy is a community oriented policing program designed for citizens of Weld County. The Academy will be conducted to accomplish the following goals: To allow the Citizens to meet the men and women who serve their community; To educate the citizens on the inner workings of law enforcement; and To work with the citizens on solving problems and sharing ideas to help make Weld County a better place to live. Some of the classes offered will include: Societal impacts on the weapons of law enforcement, crime scene and evidence collection, Anatomy of a DUI, Community Policing Programs and Traffic Enforcement.
The academy class will meet on Thursday nights for 12 weeks starting December 05, 2013. Class time will run from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
