The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for its annual Youth Advancement Scholarship.
The one-time award of $500 is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are residents of Weld County and have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited college or university. To apply, applicants must submit a completed application with a letter of recommendation, a certified copy of an official scholastic transcript and a 500-word essay.
This year’s essay topic question is: “In the last 3 years, what has been the most impactful legislation enacted in the state of Colorado for the law enforcement community? Has the legislation helped or hurt law enforcement’s ability to keep communities safe?”

Deadline for the Weld County Sheriff’s Office Youth Advancement Scholarship is April 29. Deadline for the County Sheriffs of Colorado scholarship is March 11.
Finalists for the Youth Advancement Scholarship will be announced by May 25.
