The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about one of the county’s most wanted suspects.

Colton Thompson, 34, of Weld County, is the subject of numerous criminal investigations by the sheriff’s office and several neighboring agencies. He has an active warrant for felony second-degree assault stemming from a recent domestic violence incident.

On Sunday, March 20, deputies spotted Thompson at his residence and attempted to contact him. When deputies approached his residence, Mr. Thompson eluded deputies by speeding from the area on a motorcycle.

The sheriff’s office would like to remind anyone who might be sympathetic to Thompson that helping a wanted felon hide from law enforcement is a crime. Anyone caught providing Thompson assistance will be charged with a felony.

The sheriff’s office has already received multiple tips about Thompson. Please keep those tips coming.

Thompson has ties to Weld, Larimer and Boulder counties, as well as the Denver metro area.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is asked to call the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at (970) 356-4015 or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at www.NoCoCrimeStoppers.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward.
