The Weld County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about a man and a woman suspected of stealing a car, along with a string of other thefts in the Fort Lupton area.

Just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of a theft at a gas station in the 7900 block of U.S. 85, about 2 1/2 miles north of Fort Lupton. The caller said a woman wearing a red sweatshirt with black tank top and black pants stole several items from the store.

The woman jumped into the passenger seat of a 1999 maroon Toyota Rav4 and sped from the scene. Deputies later located the vehicle, which was recently reported stolen out of Brighton, and attempted a traffic stop on Weld County Road 18, not far from the scene. The driver, an unidentified man, failed to yield to deputies.

Deputies suspect the man and the woman stole the Rav4 and are responsible for a string of thefts in the Fort Lupton area, including a possible attempted burglary of a home in Aristocrat Acres.
