Congratulations to Deputy Zach Poulsen who recently received the State Director’s Individual Award for his dedication to Special Olympics Colorado.

Poulsen received the award June 3 during the annual Tribute at the Capitol Torch Run, which serves as the kickoff event for all Law Enforcement Torch Runs that follow throughout the state. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is one of several fundraising events hosted throughout the country to benefit Special Olympics athletes.

Here’s the text from the award presentation:

STATE DIRECTOR’S INDIVIDUAL AWARD

“This individual has been the Agency Lead for the past 4 years and a member of the LETR Executive Council for the past 3 years. He is never afraid to “make the donation ask” to companies and businesses in support of Special Olympics Colorado athletes. Last year, he single handedly raised $3,452 for his Windsor Polar Plunge Team and he participated in all the Signature LETR events with his Agency raising over $11,000. He is passionate about serving our athletes and he is always willing to help in any way, exemplified by him getting here early this morning to help with set up.

“Congratulations to Weld County Sheriff’s Office -Deputy Zach Poulsen.”

Deputy Poulsen’s commitment and dedication to Special Olympics Colorado can’t be overstated. This is certainly a well-deserved honor.

Congratulations again, Deputy Poulsen, and thank you for serving as an example of how we do things in Weld County.
