It’s that time of year again.
This weekend, the Weld Elves are kicking off the holiday season with its first toy drive of 2022.
The toy drive takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart Supercenter located at 3103 S. 23rd Ave. First responders will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for children 7 to 18 years old (see attached gift guide).
Volunteers also will be accepting cash donations. The funds will be used to purchase last-minute gifts to ensure all eligible children have a present to open on Christmas.
For those who can’t make it out this weekend, Weld Elves always is accepting donations. Toys can be delivered to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office Administration Building, 1950 O St., during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Weld Elves is a partnership of Weld County law enforcement, fire & rescue, EMT and local military agencies aimed at collecting gifts and stocking stuffers for Weld County children who otherwise wouldn’t have any toys under the tree this Christmas. The gifts will be delivered by first responders in the weeks leading up to the holiday.
