Weld Sheriff K9 Unit
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office currently has four K9 teams working in the Patrol Division. Dogs are certified to do narcotic detection, tracking and suspect capture. Each dog is paired with a deputy who will act as their Handler. The dog lives with their handler and is their partner at work. K9 Handlers constantly train with their dogs to ensure that they are an effective team.

Another very important aspect of the dogs training plan are the Decoys. The Decoy Team is made up of deputies who are trained to react appropriately during training scenarios.
