Weld County Animal Control, CPW team up to free tangled fox

Posted on 07/22/2020

Earlier this week, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit responded to a local high school to help free a trapped fox kit.

Animal Control Officer Rebeca Farris responded Monday to a call to assist Colorado Parks and Wildlife to untangle a fox that had become trapped in the netting of a soccer goal at Weld Central High School in Keenesburg. The baby fox had been discovered by the high school’s grounds crew.

The fox had its back legs so tangled the netting had to be cut several times in order to free it. The fox had minor abrasions from the netting but was otherwise uninjured.

Lochbuie police also responded to assist.
