Weld Sheriff’s Office asks community to keep eyes open for stolen pickup

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to be on the lookout for a pickup stolen over the weekend from a business near Firestone.

About 8 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the business located in the 9000 block of Weld County Road 21 on a report of a cold burglary. Deputies spoke with the owner who said at some point between 8 p.m. Friday night and 7 a.m. Saturday morning someone stole his blue 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 equipped with a utility work truck-style bed.

The thief gained access to the property using a hidden key to open the gate. The suspect also kicked in an office door stealing a 4-foot tall safe, as well as about $7,000 in tools, a radio from another work truck and a pressure washer.
