Weld Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying trailer thief

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help identifying a woman who on Christmas Day tailgated her way into a storage lot and stole a camping trailer, damaging it in the process.

The theft occurred at 11:49 a.m. Friday at Mountain View RV and Boat Storage near Weld County roads 4 and 31 just north of Brighton. Although the camping trailer has been recovered, deputies are still trying to identify the suspect.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set woman, possibly Latino, in her 20s to early 30s with long dark brown or black hair. At the time of the theft she was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or a black coat with blue jeans and long brown boots.

The woman was driving a white 2020 or similar model year Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD work pickup with black aftermarket rims, running boards and bed rail caps. There is no bed liner.
