The Weld County Sheriff’s Office received Monday the results of COVID-19 testing of all inmates at the Weld County Jail.

Last week, the jail tested 392 inmates for COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus. Of those, 23 tested positive. All 23 are asymptomatic.

There were 468 inmates in the jail when testing began last Wednesday. Only inmates who have been in the facility for more than 14 days were tested, in accordance with recommendations by the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. However, testing of new inmates is ongoing.

All inmates who tested positive for COVID-19 were separated from the rest of the jail population. The entire facility will be on quarantine for the next 14 days.
