Greeley Police Department - Officer Involved Shooting
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at approximately 08:40 am, Greeley Police Officers, responded to the 600 block of 48th Avenue, in Greeley, Colorado, on a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to contact the male party. A short foot pursuit ensued and officers confronted the male party in the 4000 block of 7th Street, in Greeley. The male party displayed a knife. A taser was deployed and was unsuccessful in subduing the male party. The officer then fired his weapon, injuring the male party. Officers then tended to the male party’s wounds until paramedics arrived on scene. The male party was transported to nearby hospital. No officers were injured.

The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been activated to investigate this incident, and all media requests will be handled by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer. This is an ongoing investigation and information is very limited.
