Investigated Death

On May 2nd, 2017, at approximately 8:52 pm, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 2000 block of Serena Drive, in Mead, Colorado to a call for service involving a missing adult. The Reporting Party advised responders that her husband hadn’t been home since 12:30 pm and she was worried that he may have self-harming intentions.

At 9:07 pm, a Weld County Deputy found the missing individuals vehicle parked at Highland Lake in Mead. The 60 year old male patient had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was unresponsive.

This is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.

The identity of the individual will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office at the conclusion of their investigation.
There is no threat to the safety of the public at this time.
