Weld County Sheriff’s Office Pulls a Plane for the Colorado Special Olympics

Plane PullOn August 12, 2017 the Weld County Sheriff’s Office will be sending a team to Denver International Airport to raise money for the Colorado Special Olympics.  The Colorado Special Olympics is a great organization that provides opportunities for athletes with disabilities to compete in a ton of events every year.  They are funded by donations… and they need our help!

The Weld County Community continues to be a huge support for this cause, and we are asking for your help again.

The Special Olympics Colorado Plane Pull is a giant tug-of-war between a team of up to 25 people and a 164,000-pound airplane. This Plane Pull will take place at the Denver International Airport, one of the world’s largest airports.

Teams challenge each other to pull a jumbo jet 12 feet across the tarmac in the least amount of time! Teams must raise a minimum of $1,250 to participate and all proceeds help Special Olympics Colorado provide year-round training and athletic competition to more than 16,200 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state of Colorado.

This year the Weld County Sheriff’s Office is defending their title as champions.  We are asking for your help and support as we pull for a great cause!
