Weld County Deputies responded to a Disturbance

On September 13, 2017, at approximately 3:38 pm, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a disturbance with weapons call in Raymer Avenue, located in New Raymer, Unincorporated Weld County, Colorado.

36 year old female told dispatch, her husband, Vern Wesley Johnson DOB 06-30-1978 was in the residence with a gun threatening to kill her and would not allow her to leave the residence. The wife eventually managed to get out of the residence and left with the couple’s two daughters who had only just gotten home from school.

While deputies responded, Weld County Sheriff’s Office negotiator was able to talk to Vern Wesley Johnson, over the phone. Once Weld County deputies arrived on scene a plan was formed and Weld County negotiator was able to get Vern Wesley Johnson to walk out of the residence without the gun and onto the street.

Vern Wesley Johnson, was taken into custody without further incident. Vern is being held at the Weld County Jail and charged with Felony Menacing, False Imprisonment and Harassment.

All charges are merely accusations until proven guilty in a court of law.
