Florida man arrested in Weld County on suspicion of internet luring and other charges

(GREELEY, CO)- On March 7, 2023, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested Joel Kaufman, 47, on suspicion of the following charges:

Criminal Attempt to Commit a Class Five or Six Felony (2 counts)

Enticement of a Child-Human Trafficking (Felony, 2 counts)

Internet Luring of a Child (Felony, 2 counts)

Internet Sexual Exploitation of a child (Felony, 2 counts)

Investigators advised Kaufman traveled from Florida with the alleged expectation he would be engaging in sex with girls aged 10 and 14. Kaufman was arrested in Weld County, and later transported and booked into the Weld County Jail.

This case is an ongoing, open investigation, and no further information will be released.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
