The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the grand opening of the Sam Brownlee Training Center
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is excited to welcome the community to the grand opening of the Sam Brownlee Training Center!
Fourteen years ago, Deputy Sam Brownlee tragically lost his life in the line of duty on November 23, 2010. The Sam Brownlee Training Center will be a place where staff members will receive exceptional training and education, so our deputies will be well-equipped as first responders.
On November 22nd, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the sheriff’s office will be hosting an open house event at the Sam Brownlee Training Center, located at 58336 County Road 23, Carr, CO. This event is open to the public, and there will be SWAT, K-9, and drone demonstrations and our Bearcat will be on-site for the public to explore. There will also be food, dessert, tours of the range, and a special presentation by the administrative team.
The Sam Brownlee Training Center will debut an outdoor shooting range complex which will include six distinct firearms ranges with varying distances up to 300 yards. There is also an indoor training center, complete with several classrooms and administrative spaces that will enhance the effectiveness of our 320 sworn deputies. The sheriff’s office anticipates there will be future additions to the training facility so the agency can continue to provide excellent training to our staff, and in turn, high-quality service to the Weld County community.
This is not a public range, so please do not bring any weapons or ammunition as range use will not be permitted.
Please join us at grand opening of our training center as we begin this exciting new chapter at the Weld County Sheriff’s Office!
