Driver Hits Dog, Then Assaulted by Owner and Juvenile in Weld County

A driver struck and killed a dog that ran into the road on Weld County Road 45. After stopping to inform and apologize to the owners, the driver was confronted by Anthony Smith (38) and a juvenile male.

Well-Being Check Leads to Arrest of 28-Year-Old Male

WCSO patrol deputies responded to a check on the wellbeing call at 12:26 A.M. in the 4700 block of Grand Canyon Drive, in the Hill N Park subdivision. Based on responding deputy's interviews and their investigation, 28-year-old Anthony Fisher was arrested.

Slow Down! WCSO Deputy Clocks Driver at 115 miles per hour

A WCSO patrol deputy clocked an Acura TLX at 115 miles per hour in a 75 mile per hour zone on Interstate 25 near mile marker 232 around 11:18 P.M. yesterday.

WCSO announces the Annual Youth Advancement Scholarship for 2026

WCSO deputies safely resolve mental health crisis and bomb threat

On Feb. 11, 2026, at 10:09 A.M. the patrol responded to a bomb threat call in the 11100-block of Yosemite, in the Longview Manufactured Home Community, in Longmont (unincorporated Weld County).

Trash bags of suspected marijuana found on Weld County Road 6

On February 13, just after 3:30 P.M. WCSO patrol responded to a suspicious incident in the 15000-block of Weld County Road 6. The reporter advised several trash bags were dumped in front of his property.

Deputies respond to 911 disconnect, locate victim and arrest suspect

On Feb. 23 WCSO patrol responded to a 911 disconnect where a female was heard screaming and crying. Deputies ended up contacting the driver and passenger of the car where the call came from after a short, low speed pursuit. After an investigation, Daniel Loera was arrested on suspicion of several charges.

Florida man sentenced by Weld County judge to 156 years to life in the

Today, a Weld County judge sentenced Joel Kaufman, 49, to 156 years to life in the Department of Corrections. On Mar. 7, 2024, investigators arrested Kaufman, who traveled from Florida to Colorado after arranging what he believed would be sexual contact with girls aged 10 and 14.
