This press release is being distributed on behalf of the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).

[Greeley, Colo.] – The 19th Judicial CIRT team is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 18, 2025, in Greeley, CO.

At 8:12 p.m. a Greeley Police Officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of 18th Street near the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) campus. The male driver failed to yield to the officers, and they were aware that he had an active felony warrant. The male driver got out of the car, brandished a gun, and a foot pursuit ensued. Greeley officers pursued the man on foot through the UNC campus.

The man discharged his gun, and the officers returned fire.

Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene. The man was transported to a local hospital; his condition is unknown at this time. 

No officers or members of the public were injured, and there is no current threat to the public.
