This press release is being distributed on behalf of the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).
[Greeley, Colo.] – On Oct. 10, at 4:25 P.M., in the 600-block of 27th Street Road, in Garden City, several Greeley police officers were attempting to apprehend a male suspect who was wanted for misdemeanor and felony charges. The suspect fled, and the officers chased him on foot. During the incident, officers attempted to use less lethal impact rounds, but the suspect did not surrender. While being pursued, the suspect quickly turned and brandished a firearm. The suspect was shot by officers.
The suspect was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The name of the deceased will be released by the Weld County Coroner once next of kin is notified.
