[Weld County, Colo.] On March 10, at 5:37 P.M. Weld County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a follow up call for service in the 16000 block of Coleman Ave, in Aristocrat Ranchettes.
During patrol’s initial investigation the victim, a juvenile female, disclosed she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a family friend, 36-year-old Jesus Chacon, on multiple occasions over a period of four years. The alleged sexual assaults occurred at Chacon’s residence, and at a church in Fort Lupton.
WCSO detectives assumed the investigation from patrol, and learned the suspect supervised the nursery at the United Methodist Church in Fort Lupton, where he had been responsible for the victim on multiple occasions. Yesterday, detectives developed probable cause and arrested Chacon on suspicion of 25 counts of sexual assault on a child, position of trust/pattern of abuse.
The sheriff’s office is urging anyone who has additional information in this case and has not spoken to a detective to come forward and contact Detective Jeremy Mclaughlan at (970) 400-5816. No further information will be released today.
All charges are merely accusations until, and unless proven guilty in a court of law. ###
