Media Invited to FASTER Colorado Training

[Carr, COLO.] The Sheriff’s Office is pleased to welcome FASTER Colorado to the Sam Brownlee Training Center as they provide advanced training to help law enforcement respond more effectively to critical incidents in schools.
FASTER Colorado, is a leading nonprofit dedicated to school safety through armed defender training, was selected as one of only two statewide recipients of the Enhance School Safety Incident Response (ESSIR) Grant from the Colorado Office of School Safety. This competitive grant provided funding to deliver high-quality, no-cost training to active-duty law enforcement officers, sharpening their capabilities and enhancing safety during the critical first moments of a school violence incident.
The ESSIR Grant allowed FASTER Colorado to offer five training sessions to qualifying law enforcement agencies, including:
- Tactical Firearms for Active Killer Response
- Law Enforcement Response to Active Killer
The final class runs from June 22- June 24, at the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, Sam Brownlee Training Center, located at 58336 Weld County Road 23, in Carr, CO.
Media outlets are welcome to attend the class, and additional information about class logistics will be provided to interested journalists. More information about the class can be found at FASTERColorado.org. All instructors are law enforcement instructors, and other first responders.
These specialized courses focus on practical, life-saving skills to neutralize threats rapidly and protect lives when seconds matter most. A special emphasis is placed on serving rural Colorado communities, including Sheriff’s Offices, Police Departments, the Department of Parks and Wildlife and Colorado State Patrol.
