[Weld County, COLO.] On July 11, 2026, shortly after 3 p.m. the Weld County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 16000 block of Weld County Road 13 to investigate a missing person. A loved one reported 25-year-old Jose Silva Hernandez as a missing person. The last reported contact with Silva- Hernandez was July 10, 2026 shortly before midnight.
Deputies conducted a follow-up investigation into Silva-Hernandez’s disappearance but could not locate him.
On July 13, deputies responded to a medical assist at Highway 85 about a half a mile south of Weld County Road 22 where debris from a vehicle was reportedly discovered, along with a submerged vehicle in a nearby pond. The Fort Lupton Police Department responded to the scene to investigate the traffic crash involving the submerged vehicle.
A deceased male along with the submerged vehicle were recovered from the pond, and the Weld County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
On July 15, the Weld County Coroner's Office identified the deceased male as Jose Silva Hernandez.
The sheriff’s office extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Jose Silva-Hernandez.
No further information will be released today.
