[Weld County, COLO.] Last Wednesday, just before 5 p.m. a Weld County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy responded to a harassment in-progress call in the area of Highway 34 westbound and East 27th Street near Greeley.
During the investigation, the suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Jaime Rodriguez, reportedly followed the victim several miles from Interstate 76 up to Weld County Road 49. Reportedly, Rodriguez frequently pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle, slowed down, and blocked the victim’s attempts to pass. Near East 27th Street, just north of Highway 34, the victim got out of his vehicle, and Rodriguez allegedly pointed a gun at him. Deputies later learned while appearing to be a Glock 9mm, it was a .177 pellet gun. The victim returned to his car, and Rodriguez reportedly drove off.
At the conclusion of the investigation, probable cause was developed to arrest Rodriguez on suspicion of Menacing-Aggravated- Non-Family – Weapon.
