Man arrested on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit

[Weld County, COLO.] In the early morning hours of Aug. 10^th, shortly after 1:00 A.M. a Weld County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy observed a Jeep Liberty failing to maintain its designated travel lane. The deputy attempted a traffic stop on the Jeep at E. 16th Street and 1st Ave near Greeley. The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as 32-year-old Nicholas Bordeaux, reportedly failed to stop and began to accelerate away from the deputy.

The deputy pursued the vehicle, with other patrol units assisting, and noted Bordeaux reportedly failed to stop at a minimum of six red traffic lights when he entered the intersections. Bordeaux also reportedly drove the wrong way on 20th Street which has a median and traveled westbound in the east bound lanes. The Colorado State Patrol was able to successfully end the pursuit by utilizing a pursuit immobilization device. Bordeaux was taken into custody, and after an investigation, probable cause was developed, and Bordeaux was arrested on suspicion of:

• Possession Of Weapon by Previous Offender
• Possession Of a Controlled Substance
• Possession Of Fentanyl or Analog - Less Than 1 Gram
• Drug Paraphernalia-Possess
• Violation Of Protection Order
• Vehicular Eluding
• Displayed/Possessed/Sold Fictitious License Plate (Traffic)
• Drove Vehicle Wrong Way on One-Way Roadway (Traffic)
• Failed To Drive in Single Lane (Weaving) (Traffic)
• Failed To Drive as Required on Divided Highway (Traffic)
• Drove Vehicle While Under Influence
• Failed To Observe Traffic Control Device (Traffic) - 6 Counts
