[Weld County, CO] Today at 10:09 A.M. the patrol division responded to a bomb threat call in the 11100-block of Yosemite, in the Longview Manufactured Home Community, in Longmont (unincorporated Weld County).

The reporter advised a male was standing next to a shed and he was waiting for the police because he allegedly had a bomb in his backpack. The male then placed the backpack on the ground next to a tree. When deputies arrived, they were able to detain the male in question.

Deputies secured, evacuated, and set up a perimeter around the scene. The Weld County Regional Bomb Squad responded to investigate the incident. Through their investigation, the bomb squad determined the device that was in the backpack was not an explosive device.

After deputies concluded their investigation, they had mental health concerns for the male that placed the backpack, and he was placed on a mental health hold at a local hospital.

The scene has been rendered safe, and there is no threat to the community. ###
