Deputies arrest man after disturbance investigation

[Weld County, COLO.] A 64-year-old man faces felony menacing charges and first-degree burglary following an investigation that took place yesterday shortly after 5 p.m

Weld County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to the 500 block of Johnson Street, near Evanston to investigate a reported disturbance with weapons.

During the investigation, deputies learned the suspect, Robert Betzer, reportedly entered the victim’s home, uninvited, with a large knife, threatened her, and shoved her while the second victim was present in the room. 

Through their investigation, deputies developed probable cause and arrested Betzer on suspicion of:

  • Menacing
  • First Degree Burglary - No Force Entry - Residence

No one was injured during this incident. All charges are merely accusations, and a defendant is presumed innocent until, or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
